About Me

Hey there! I’m Emily Schario and I’m a producer at GBH in Boston, MA, New England’s largest public media organization. While my current title may be “producer,” a more apt description may be something along the lines of “utility journalist” or “news-girl-who-wears-many-hats.” One day I’m making a TikTok about Boston’s mayoral election; the next I’m covering the Boston Marathon; the next I’m managing live streams for candidate interviews during the New Hampshire primary. Really, nothing is off limits.

I grew up in Auburn, Maine and graduated summa cum laude from Stonehill College with a double major in English and mediated communication. When I’m not in the BPL studio, you can usually spot me at Fenway Park, fawning over pictures of dogs or reading Bachelor spoilers (don’t judge me).
